Last Friday, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation partnered with businesses to give out cookies to over 1,500 military members in our community.

Volunteers gathered on Thursday to put over 6,000 cookies in goodie bags. The cookies were donated by partners at Margaritaville Resort Casino and Boomtown Casino, Live! Casino & Hotel, The Wooden Spoon, Sugar Sheaux, and Jason’s Deli.

Each year, military families, veterans, community partners, and supporters come together to deliver a taste of home to Airmen at Barksdale Air Force Base and military personnel across the region. The Bossier Chamber and Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation have partnered to give out cookies to military members for the last several years as a token of their appreciation and gratitude to those who serve our country.

“This holiday season, those serving our nation far from home were met with kind gestures and support from a caring community,” said Krista Augustson, Military Relations Liaison at the Bossier Chamber. “The joy and surprise on their faces when we delivered cookies was unforgettable, a great reminder that even small acts of kindness can bring people together and make the community bond even stronger.”

Cookie deliveries were made to Barksdale AFB, the Army Reserve Unit, National Guard, and Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home.
