The Benton Rd. Overpass and the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway is now open to traffic in Bossier City. During the height of the Winter Storm it was necessary to close some streets and to avert traffic in order to insure the Safety of our Citizens. As of noon today both the Carriageway and the Benton Rd. Overpass are open and deemed as safe for motorists. Mayor Chandler said that he appreciates the patience and support of our Citizens as decisions were made to keep our community safe. Though these thoroughfares are now safe for travel citizens are still encouraged to stay alert for any lingering ice and exercise safety as we work to return to normal traffic flow in the city.
