The Bossier Parish Police Jury concluded its final meeting of 2025 on Wednesday, Dec. 17, with a series of decisions focused on infrastructure improvements, property standards, and long-term planning for the parish.

During the meeting, jurors approved a change order for the 2025 road improvement program, extending the project timeline by 21 days and adjusting the scope of work at an added cost of $264,673.48. A portion of the increase will be funded by BPX Energy, BP’s U.S. onshore oil and gas business operating in Louisiana’s Haynesville Basin. Jurors also approved a supplement for the Espanita Drainage Improvements project, which has reached 95 percent completion in its design phase and now requires additional servitudes to proceed.

To strengthen long-term infrastructure planning and support disaster relief documentation, the Police Jury authorized pavement management information services through FUGRO Company at a cost of $145,000. The firm will conduct a parishwide road survey using advanced technology to evaluate pavement conditions and provide data to guide maintenance priorities. Jurors also adopted a three-year road overlay program covering 2026 through 2028.

Property standards were another key topic, as jurors reviewed several properties deemed to pose health and safety concerns. Actions were taken on abandoned homes and overgrown lots recommended for condemnation.

Parish Administrator Dr. Ken Ward closed the meeting by thanking jurors and staff for their efforts throughout the year and reflecting on the parish’s progress. He expressed appreciation for their dedication and emphasized unity, resilience, and shared purpose as Bossier Parish looks ahead to 2026, encouraging continued collaboration and forward-thinking growth in the coming year.
