Louisiana Downs Racetrack and Casino is the place to be this Labor Day
week. The beloved Wiener Dog Charity Races are back, and on Labor Day, they will share the track
with our Thoroughbreds. Horse racing will then take center stage on Tuesday and Wednesday as we
count down to the 44th running of the Super Derby on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The family fun starts at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, when the Family Fun Zone and Food Truck Alley
open on the apron outside the grandstand. Beginning at noon, tiny paws will trot down the track for
the annual Wiener Dog Charity Races. For just a $2 minimum donation, you can make your winning
wiener wager for a chance to win a commemorative T-shirt. All proceeds from the dog races will
benefit the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, Robinson’s Rescue, and Paws 4 Life. Red
Rover, Doc’s Sandwich Shop & Deli, and Main Stage Entertainment are sponsoring this year’s
Wiener Dog Charity Races.

Thoroughbred racing continues at Louisiana Downs on Labor Day, Tuesday, and Wednesday with
post time at 4:05 p.m. each day. The week’s excitement culminates on Saturday, Sept. 12, with the
44th running of the Louisiana Downs Super Derby.
