The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office would like to clear up any confusion regarding
locations available to the public for emergency warming during the upcoming
period of frigid weather expected to impact our area.
Beginning Saturday, January 24, at 5:00 PM, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office
will offer assistance to individuals in need of warmth until the cold weather event
has concluded at the following locations. Times will be adjusted if necessary.
Viking Drive Substation – 2510 Viking Drive, Bossier City, LA
Re-Entry Building – 181 McCauley Drive, Plain Dealing, LA
In addition, the following facilities have been identified by partner agencies and
organizations as warming centers:
Louisiana Downs – 8000 East Texas Street, Bossier City, LA.
Stonewall Baptist Church – 807 Eatman Street, Bossier City, LA.
Shady Grove Recreation Center – 3949 Wayne Street, Bossier City, LA.
Sheriff Julian Whittington emphasized the seriousness of the weather event,
stating, “This is expected to be a very dangerous cold weather situation for our
area. We are strongly encouraging residents to limit travel unless absolutely
necessary and to make plans now to stay warm and safe. If you or someone you
know needs help, please reach out – our deputies are here to assist.”
