Planting seeds to grow and celebrating kids. That’s the message attendees heard during the Bossier Parish Young Life fundraising dinner banquet on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning (BPSTIL) on Innovation Drive in Bossier City.
The Young Life (YL) banquet offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy great food, entertainment, and to learn more about supporting the Young Life Program. The Young Life Program is an organization that has made an impact on middle and high school students in the Bossier City area for over eight years.
“Young Life is a non-denominational outreach ministry to teenagers. We seek to build relationships with kids by meeting them where they are and showing them love. We want our volunteers and staff’s lives to be so distinctive that kids ask what’s different about us. This fundraising banquet serves two purposes: firstly, it allows us to showcase our ongoing ministry and the impact we are making, and secondly, it provides an opportunity for us to ask individuals to partner with us, both financially and by becoming personally involved, either as a volunteer leader, prayer warrior, or by joining our adult committee,” said Jeffrey Bellard, YL Area Director.
A new Young Life (YL) area program typically begins when several adults come together to pray about the possibility of establishing a Young Life program in their town. They share the vision and idea with friends, raise funds, and eventually hire a YL staff person. This is how the Young Life program in Bossier Parish began.
