Business owners and entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to learn more about starting, expanding and operating a business in Bossier Parish during an upcoming workshop hosted by the Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission.
The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Bossier Central Library, 7204 Hutchison Drive in Bossier City.
The event will give attendees an opportunity to hear directly from representatives of agencies and organizations involved in business development, permitting and business support services.
Organizers hope the workshop will make the process of opening or expanding a business more transparent, accessible and easier to navigate for both new and existing business owners.
Participating agencies and organizations will include representatives from Building Permits, Fire Prevention, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, the Water Department, the Tax Department, the Louisiana Department of Health, Code Inspections Plus and AEP SWEPCO.
Bringing the different agencies together in one location will give business owners an opportunity to ask questions and better understand the requirements they may encounter when starting or expanding a business.
For new business owners, the process can involve a number of steps, including permits, inspections, utilities, taxes and health requirements. The workshop is designed to help business owners understand those requirements and know where to turn for assistance.
Existing businesses will also have an opportunity to learn about available resources and ask questions as they consider expansions, renovations or other changes to their operations.
With Bossier Parish continuing to experience commercial and residential growth, organizers hope the workshop will strengthen communication between business owners and the agencies and organizations that support economic development throughout the parish.
The workshop will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Bossier Central Library, 7204 Hutchison Drive, Bossier City.
