Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is expanding skilled trades training across Northwest Louisiana by offering free Basic Construction Crafts Bootcamps this fall at its Natchitoches and Sabine Valley campuses.
The three-week bootcamp prepares participants for entry-level construction jobs and lays a foundation for further training and careers in the skilled trades. No prior construction experience is required, and the program is open to anyone entering the workforce, changing careers, or starting in a skilled trade.
The Natchitoches Campus bootcamp will run from October 5 to 23, 2026. The Sabine Valley Campus session is scheduled for November 2 to 20, 2026. Both programs meet Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and include 120 hours of in-person instruction. Sessions will continue with spring start dates beginning in January, with free tuition for all participants.
BPCC’s Basic Construction Crafts Bootcamp uses the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills curriculum, providing foundational knowledge in safety, construction math, hand and power tools, construction drawings, materials handling, basic rigging, and employability skills. Students who complete the bootcamp earn the NCCER Core credential, an industry-recognized foundation for future construction training and employment.
The training, valued at $1,500, is provided at no cost to participants through BPCC institutional aid, removing financial barriers for those pursuing a construction career. Each location is limited to 15 participants.
