Southern University at Shreveport is celebrating its new partnership with Bossier Parish Schools through an official MOU signing showcase. Bossier Parish Schools Superintendent Jason Rowland and SUSLA Chancellor Dr. Aubra Gantt will formally sign the agreement, opening up the Dual Enrollment program at Southern University at Shreveport to all high schools in Bossier Parish.
This program allows high school students to earn both high school and college credits during regular class hours at their high schools through various methods. Participating in dual credit courses gives students a jumpstart on their college journey and helps them tackle college-level challenges early on. The credits they earn are applicable toward a degree at Southern University at Shreveport and are often transferable to other institutions.
Every school in Bossier Parish will now have access to SUSLA’s Early College Programs, potentially enabling students to earn an Associate Degree. SUSLA has a strong track record of serving students across Louisiana, having graduated over 150 students with Associate Degrees in the past five years alone.
