College baseball: BPCC extends winning streak to 11 with doubleheader sweep

The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers extended their winning streak to 11 with a doubleheader sweep of Copiah-Lincoln Community College Monday at BPCC.

BPCC won the first game 6-3 and the second 9-0. The Cavs improved to 11-2.

Former Benton star Bryson Pierce started on the mound in the seven-inning first game. He allowed two hits and no earned runs with five strikeouts and four walks in three innings.

Jackson Reifel allowed three hits, struck out three and walked one in three innings of relief. Chase Randall struck out three and walked one in the final inning.

BPCC had four hits. Mason Sanders hit a two-run home run to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the second. He finished with three RBI.

Riley Kwak had a two-run single in the second to put the Cavs on top 5-3.

Four pitchers combined for the shutout in the second game. Starter Hudson Legrow allowed three hits with one strikeout and one walk in four innings.

Zeke Wall, Aiden Domingue and former Parkway star Brandon Levy all pitched in relief. Levy didn’t allow a hit and struck out two in the final inning.

The Cavs had nine hits by nine different players. CollinHarris hit a two-run home run in the fourth to give BPCC a 4-0 lead. He finished with three RBI.

Hayden LeBleu had an RBI-double just before Harris’ home run. Jacob Poletto led off the inning with a single.

Kash Martin’s two-out single in the fifth scored two runs and gave the Cavs an 8-0 lead.

BPCC begins Region 14 play Saturday with a home doubleheader against Northeast Texas Community College at 1 p.m.
