The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers split a doubleheader against Northeast Texas Saturday at BPCC.
BPCC won the seven-inning first game 11-5 to clinch the Region XIV series victory. The Cavs won Game 1 7-3 Wednesday.
Northeast Texas won the second game 11-1.
BPCC is 19-13 overall and 5-10 in the conference. Northeast Texas is 17-12 and 9-5.
Gianluca Montanaro went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in the victory. His three-run home run gave the Cavs a 10-5 lead in the top of the sixth.
Mason Sanders went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Braylin Harris hit a three-run home run to give the Cavs a 4-0 lead in the second.
It was Sanders’ sixth home run of the season and Montanaro’s fifth.
Former Parkway star Brandon Levy had an RBI-triple in the top of the fifth to put BPCC on top 6-4.
The Cavs led 6-5 through five innings then added four in the sixth.
Starter Jackson Reifel went 4 1/3 innings for the win. Judd Funderburk pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief.
BPCC had five hits in the second game. Former Benton star Bryson Pierce went 2-for-2.
BPCC visits UA-Rich Mountain Monday at 2.
