The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers split their doubleheader with Angelina, falling 12-6 in Game 1 before rallying for a 13-6 victory in Game 2.
Game 1: 12-6 Loss
Angelina collected 13 hits and scored 12 runs to earn the win. The game was tied 4-4 entering the third inning when Angelina scored 4 to take the lead and never looked back.
Bryson Pierce had a standout performance for the Cavs, going 4-for-4. Gianluca Montanaro and Braylin Harris each recorded two hits, including a home run, and drove in two RBI apiece.
Game 2: 13-6 win
BPCC trailed 6-5 heading into the seventh inning but exploded for three runs to regain the lead. Zack Bretza delivered a clutch pinch-hit single that scored two runs and shifted the momentum. The Cavs added four more runs in the eighth and one in the ninth to secure the victory.
Braylin Harris went 2-for-5 with a home run. Bryson Pierce hit a three-run home run. Brandon Levy collected three hits and three RBI, while Gianluca Montanaro and Hayden LeBleu each went 2-for-4.
Judd Funderburk started on the mound and threw 3.1 innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out three. Trent Lape came on in relief and pitched five strong innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out three to earn the win.
The Cavs move to 24-15 on the season and will travel to Houston on Monday to face Alvin.
