RUSTON — With the help of former Airline stars Paris Endris, Caroline Easom and Jina Baffuto, Louisiana Tech defeated McNeese 4-0 in its non-conference finale Tuesday night at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field.
The Bulldogs (30-18) reached the 30-win mark for the third consecutive season under head coach Josh Taylor. It also marked the 26th season in which LA Tech has tallied 30 or more wins.
Endris, a sophomore first baseman, hit a three-run home run. Easom, a senior second baseman, had a double.
Endris also set a new single-game career high with three RBI. The three-RBI game was the fourth multi-RBI game of her career.
“Paris hitting her first home run was a big at-bat,” Taylor said. “It was 0-0 in the bottom of the fifth. That was the timely hit that we were looking for. When we get those, we are hard to beat.
“I am proud of Paris. She showed a lot of resolve and all the hard work she has put in paid off. To have that moment is really rewarding for her.”
Endris has appeared in 10 games and started six.
Easom now has 628 career at-bats, the 10th most in program history.
She ranks second on the team with a .297 average. She has nine doubles and 26 RBI.
Baffuto, a sophomore, scored a run as a pinch runner. She has appeared in 29 games and started four.
Tech is third third in the Comference USA standings at 12-9. Liberty (31-19, 19-5) is the leader.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to begin their final conference series Friday at home against FIU at 6 p.m. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 2 and Game 3 Sunday at noon.
The Conference USA tournament is May 8-11 at New Mexico State.
