College track and field: Former Benton standout King sets Central Arkansas school record in javelin

Former Benton standout Jeffrey King set a Central Arkansas record in the javelin with a throw of 217 feet, 11 inches in the Little Rock Invitational.

King, a freshman, easily won the event He went over 200 feet on five of his six attempts. He threw 214-6 on his fifth attempt before reaching the school-record mark on his sixth.

The previous record was 215-5 by Michaelangelo Bullard in 2022.

King’s teammate Levi Dugger finished second with a 170-4.
