What do you get when you merge science exploration and hands-on fun? Find out this summer at Camp Aqua at Shreveport Aquarium. Campers will discover the wonders of the ocean, experience up close animal encounters and go behind the scenes to get up close and personal with sharks, eels, and a host of other sea creatures.
The aquarium will offer three different summer camps including full-day camps for kids going into 4th – 7th grades and half-day camps for kids entering 1st – 3rd grades.
Hungry, Hungry Predators: Unleash the Beast Within
June 9-13, 9 am – 12 pm, June 16-20, 9 am – 4 pm
Embark on a wild adventure into the world of nature’s most formidable hunters! Discover what makes predators so fierce, from their razor-sharp teeth to their cryptic camouflage. Our campers will discover the amazing ways predators find and capture their prey through hands-on dissections, crafts and games. Unleash the inner beast within you this summer!
Shark Squad: Embrace the Fin-tastic World
June 23 – 27, 9 am – 12 pm, July 7 – 11, 9 am – 4 pm
This isn’t just any summer camp; it’s a chance to become an expert on the ocean’s most fierce apex predators, SHARKS! Learn why sharks reign supreme in the marine food chain through a series of engaging experiments, interactive building challenges and more. Discover the unique characteristics that make sharks the ocean’s most respected and misunderstood inhabitants, from their incredible sensory abilities to their pivotal role in the marine ecosystem.
Habitat Heroes: Guardians of the Wild
July 14 -18, 9 am – 4 pm
Dive in to explore the vibrant underwater worlds of coral reefs, the mysterious mangroves and beyond. Through immersive hands-on experiments, our campers will uncover the critical importance of these diverse habitats and the myriad of life they support and then embark on a noble mission to create habitats for the beloved animals of the Shreveport Aquarium. Become a guardian of the wild and help protect and preserve our planet!

Half-day summer camps are $160 for the week and full-day camps are $260 for the week and includes a t-shirt and snack. There is a discount for siblings and aquarium members.
