After more than a decade of waking up the Shreveport-Bossier community with her warmth, wit, and unmistakable voice, Erin Woods—known on air as “Bristol”—will sign off from Kiss Country for the final time next Wednesday, marking the end of an era in Northwest Louisiana radio.

With a career spanning over 20 years and multiple markets across the U.S., Woods has become more than a morning show host—she’s been a trusted friend, a local icon, and a steady voice of connection for countless listeners. Her departure from radio, though bittersweet, signals the start of a new chapter rooted in service and community development.

Woods’ radio journey began in college at Bowling Green State University’s WFAL, where she hosted a one-hour Phish show and managed sales. From there, she took on roles in Greenville, Ohio, Cincinnati, Cedar Rapids, Syracuse, and eventually returned to her beloved Shreveport-Bossier. Her dynamic career saw her thrive in a range of roles, from music and program director to operations manager and content creator.

Listeners knew her best as “Bristol,” but her impact stretched far beyond the airwaves. She masterminded creative promotions like “Practice Safe Text” and the K945 Listener Lounges, brought national talent to the region, and filled the airwaves with energy, empathy, and joy. From playing ping pong with rock bands to receiving on-stage shoutouts from chart-toppers, her time in radio was nothing short of unforgettable.

But for Woods, it was never about the fame. It was about the people—building community, sharing stories, and making sure every listener felt seen and heard.

Recently, Woods quietly stepped into a new role as Member Relations Liaison for the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, where she now channels her talents into helping local businesses grow and strengthening ties throughout the region. Surrounded by a team of dedicated leaders, she says this next chapter feels like a natural continuation of her lifelong commitment to connection and service.

As she transitions away from the mic, Woods reflects on the power of radio to teach communication, empathy, and resilience—skills she now carries into her work at the Chamber.

She also hopes to inspire others interested in broadcasting, reminding them that radio, even in the digital age, remains a powerful platform for connection. “To me, radio was the original social media,” she has said. “It creates community, conversation, and comfort in a way no other medium can.”

Woods leaves behind a legacy built on authenticity, creativity, and heart. Her presence on the airwaves may be ending, but her voice will continue to uplift the community in new and impactful ways.

As she signs off as “Bristol” and steps forward as Erin Woods, the region says thank you—for the music, the memories, and the magic.
