Fat Tuesday Shop and Bakery, a longtime South Bossier favorite, is expanding its footprint with a new downtown Shreveport location slated to open in March 2026.

The locally owned business announced on Facebook that the new Fat Tuesday Sandwich Shop will open at 400 Texas Street, Suite 102. The downtown location is expected to operate from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will be closed on holidays.

Owner Ashley Hibner said the expansion marks an exciting milestone for the business, which has served the community for nearly a decade.

“Laissez les bons temps rouler, Downtown Shreveport,” Hibner said, noting that Fat Tuesday has been open for eight years at its original South Bossier location. She added that the business recently expanded again with the addition of a food trailer in April 2025 and is thrilled to bring its concept to downtown Shreveport in 2026.

The new location will feature a streamlined menu, offering light breakfast items, coffee, select original Fat Tuesday po’boys, salads, soups, and desserts. While it will not include the full menu available at the original shop, Hibner said many customer favorites will be available.

The space will include seating for approximately six tables inside, along with patio seating, and will accommodate dine-in, takeout, and pickup orders.

Hibner emphasized that the growth of Fat Tuesday would not be possible without the dedication of her staff, crediting long-time team members Christina, Margaret, Mason, Maddox, Mrs. Jacque, and Sarah for growing alongside the business over the years. She also recognized newer team members Melissa, Kate, and Broderick for choosing to grow with the company.

“They’ve chosen Fat Tuesday every day,” Hibner said, adding that the team’s loyalty and commitment have been central to the business’s success.

The original Fat Tuesday Shop and Bakery will continue operating at 1201 Shady Grove Drive in Bossier City, and the food trailer will remain active with weekly appearances throughout the area.

The downtown expansion reflects continued momentum for the business and adds to the growing mix of local eateries in Shreveport’s downtown district.
