Airline receiver Kenny Darby has decommited from LSU.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Darby was scheduled to sign with the Tigers Wednesday, the first day of early signing period.
Darby announced his decision on social media site X. He had been committed to LSU since November of 2024.
This season, Darby caught 93 passes for 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also rushed for 609 yards on 49 carries and nine touchdowns.
He was named first-team All-District 1-5A at Athlete and return specialist.
As a junior, Darby caught 100 passes for 1,764 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was named first-team All-State by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
Despite missing six full games and part of another because of an injury, Darby caught 35 passes for 561 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore.
Darby has long been considered one of the state’s top prospects in the Class of 2026. He is considered a four-star prospect.
He is ranked by Rivals as the No. 7 player in Louisiana and the No. 28 wide receiver in the country.
