Bossier rising senior Grace Goodwin has been selected for the class of 2026 Congaree Global Golf Initiative.

According to its website, the Congaree Globa Golf Initiative’s mission “is to provide underserved and well-deserving high school students who aspire to play collegiate golf access to the highest level of athletic coaching and academic tools to enhance their opportunities for success. A student’s journey with Congaree only begins at CGGI. During their college career, the Congaree team supports each student by providing an alumni network of fellow CGGI students, as well as internship and mentorship opportunities through Congaree’s Ambassadors.”

Goodwin is one of 84 players from around the world selected for the initiative this year. They represent 17 state and 16 countries.

One aspect of the program is a week of intensive training at the Congaree Gold Club in Ridgeland, S.C.

“Every aspect of the student’s performance is analyzed using the latest technology under the watchful eye of world-renowned coaches,” the website states.

Goodwin helped Benton win Division I state championships in 2024 and 2025. She finished fifth in the individual competition in 2026, second in 2025 and seventh in 2024.
