High school baseball: Parkway, Plain Dealing win non-district games

The Parkway Panthers and Plain Dealing Lions won non-district games Monday.

Parkway defeated Converse 14-0 at Converse and Plain Dealing defeated Zwolle 8-5 at Zwolle.

In another non-district game, Benton fell to West Monroe 8-3 at West Monroe. The loss ended the Tigers’ 12-game winning streak. West Monroe has won 11 in a row.

At Converse, Dallas Loche went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI in the six-inning game. Brady Prine went 2-for-4 with a triple.

Tristan Sedberry went 2-for-4. Brylan Washington and Kirby Haskins had one double each. Jax Thomson had two RBI. Carsen Barringer got the win.

Parkway (10-14) visits North Caddo Wednesday at 6. Converse dropped to 15-10. 

At Zwolle, Bo Bailey went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Ja’marion Baker-Shepherd went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI.

Jerry Harris went 2-for-4 with a double. Brandon Arnold went 2-for-4 with two RBI. 

Max Rodrigues pitched 4 2/3 innings for the win. Bailey pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. He didn’t allow a hit, struck out three and walked one.

Plain Dealing (9-10) hosts Lincoln Prep in a doubleheader Wednesday at 5. Zwolle dropped to 4-16.

At West Monroe, Benton had seven hits. Brody Turnipseed went 3-for-4. Cole Snell went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Hayden Millen went 2-for-4.

Benton (21-3-2) hosts Huntington in a District 1-5A game Tuesday at 6. West Monroe improved to 20-7.
