The Parkway Panthers and Haughton Bucs won on the first day of the Brown Service Center Minden Holiday Classic Wednesday.
Parkway advanced to the semifinals with a 70-49 victory over Woodlawn. Haughton defeated Camden Fairview, Ark., 52-47 in a first-round game.
Caleb Evans poured in 25 points to lead Parkway (4-5). Kaleb Williams added 18. Antonio Gladney had 12.
The Panthers got off to a fast start, outscoring the Knights 19-2 in the first quarter.
Woodlawn rallied in the second quarter but Parkway still led 36-25 at the half. The Panthers extended the lead to 56-34 after three quarters.
Parkway faces the winner of Thursday’s 6:40 p.m. quarterfinal game between Haughton (7-5) and Gibsland-Coleman (14-0) in the semifinals Friday at 5:20 at Minden High.
Hayden Lippolis and James Alexander led the Bucs with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Jacob Attaway added eight and Joshua Marshall seven.
Lippolis hit three 3-pointers and Alexander scored seven points in the first quarter to help Haughton build a 21-16 lead.
The Bucs cooled off in the second quarter and led 28-26 at the half. Attaway sank two 3-pointers and Marshall one in the third quarter. The Bucs outscored the Cardinals 19-7 for a 47-33 lead.
Camden Fairview rallied in the fourth but Haughton held the Cardinals off for the victory.
