Parkway won the boys division in the District 1-5A meet for the fifth straight year Wednesday afternoon at the South Bossier
The Panthers scored 21 points with six runners finishing in the top 10. Benton was second with 56 and Airline third with 84.
Benton finished runner-up in the girls division with 47 points. Byrd won with 32 and Parkway was third with 55.
Parkway junior Brennan Robin won the boys race for the second straight year. He covered the 3-mile course in 14 minutes, 46.3 seconds.
Parkway senior Ben Ruliffson was runner-up in 15:19.00. Airline’s Jayden Williams was third in 15:28.80.
Benton senior Claire Allen won the girls race in 18:46.80. Allen has had an outstanding high school career. She also won the title as a freshman. She was third last year and fourth in 2023.
Byrd sophomore Emma Banker and freshman Isabel Wooley finished second and third, respectively, in 18:48.80 and 18:50.
Parish runners took the top 10 spots in the boys race.
Benton freshman Cooper Sims was fourth in the in 15:39.20.
Parkway senior Noah Lafitte (15:52.10), junior Aiden O’Nishea 16:07.50) and freshman Landon Champagne (16:10.50) finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.
Benton sophomore Samuel Ivins was eighth in 16:14.10, Parkway sophomore Isaac Ruliffson ninth in 16:18.80 and Airline junior Austin Bonney 10th in 16:18.80.
Parish runners took six of the top 10 spots in the girls race.
Benton junior Aaliyah Gonzalez was fourth in in 18:53.70.
Parkway freshman Caylee Weaver and sophomore Khaliyah Harris finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in 19:42.50 and 19:53.10.
Haughton senior Clara Hicks was seventh in 20:05.20. Benton junior Maddox Cisneros was eighth in 20:09.50.
Byrd freshmen Kelley McCrary and Ella Key finished ninth and 10th, respectively, in 20:19.00 and 20:27.00.
Other parish runners finishing in the top 20 in the boys race were Parkway’s Braxton Thomas (12th), Benton’s Dalton Bliss (13th), Benton’s Brice Warner (14th), Benton’s Elijah Holifield (17th), Airline’s Jordan Williams (19th) and Airline’s Tyler Bartels (20th).
Other parish runners finishing in the top 20 in the girls race were Haughton’s Alyssa Giddings (11th), Parkway’s Kiara Jackson (13th), Benton’s Ellie Allen (15th), Airline’s Kaylyn Thompson (19th) and Parkway’s Alaina Stoute (20th).
The Region 1, Division I meet in scheduled for Nov. 6 at the South Bossier Complex. The top eight teams in each division qualify for the state meet Nov. 17 at Northwestern State. Any runner that finishes in the top 25 also qualifies.
