The Parkway Lady Panthers defeated J.S. Clark Leadership Academy 55-35 Monday night at Parkway.
Elsewhere, the Plain Dealing Lady Lions came up just short, falling to North Webster 66-61 in overtime in Springhill.
At Parkway, balanced scoring and tough defense helped the Lady Panthers defeat Clark, a charter school located in Opelousas.
Savannah Wilson and Dakota Howard scored 11 points each. Zara Baker and Kenadie Loche had nine each. Khia Thomas added seven and Jasmyne Hendrix six.
Parkway led 10-4 after the first quarter and 25-9 at the half.
Loche scored all of her points in the third quarter and the Lady Panthers led 48-23 going into the fourth.
Taylor Barnaba led J.S. Clark (15-7) with 12 points.
Parkway (16-4) hosts Southwood Friday.
At North Webster, Plain Dealing’s Jakayla Douglas poured in 32 points.
Brianna Newton added 11 and Janiya Douglas 10.
The Lady Lions led 27-14 at the half and 39-31 after three quarters.
But North Webster’s Makiyah White hit five 3-pointers and scored all 18 of her points in the fourth quarter. Jakayla Douglas scored 11 in the quarter but the game went into overtime tied at 57.
The Lady Knights (10-5) outscored the Lady Lions 9-4 in the extra period.
Plain Dealing (7-10) visits North DeSoto Tuesday.
