The 35th annual Bossier Football Classic begins Thursday at Tinsley Park.
The three-day tournament features 12 boys and four girls teams. There is also a junior varsity boys and girls tournament.
Bossier, Benton, Airline and Haughton are among the teams competing in the boys varsity tournament. Bossier, Parkway, Haughton and Evangel Christian are the varsity girls teams competing.
The Bossier boys are off to a 3-2-2 start under new Head Coach Gerardo Martinez, who replaced highly successful Orlando Medellin.
Martinez was part of that success as a member of Medellin’s staff the past four seasons.
Airline is 3-1, Benton is 2-2-2, Parkway 2-1-1 and Haughton 2-5-1.
The Parkway girls bring a 6-0 record into the tournament. Haughton is 3-4 and Bossier 1-6.
Other teams in the varsity boys field are Byrd, Central Lafourche, Evangel Christian, Huntington, Loyola, Minden and Ouachita Parish.
Admission is $8 Thursday and Friday, $12 Saturday (cash only).
Matches begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, 5:30 Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.
