The Airline Lady Vikings, Benton Lady Tigers and Plain Dealing Lady Lions qualified the playoffs.

In non-select Division I first-round games, Airline (18-14), the No. 16 seed, hosts No. 17 Hahnville (18-14), and No. 23 Benton (16-14) visits No. 10 Sulphur (18-9).

In a non-select Division IV, No. 15 Plain Dealing (15-7) hosts No. 18 Pickering (8-14).

First-round games must be played by Saturday.

For most of the latter part of the season, it looked like Haughton would make the non-select Division I playoffs.

In power ratings posted by the LHSAA Tuesday morning, the Lady Bucs (16-14) were No. 25. That was before Tuesday’s results were figured in. In the final ratings, Haughton was No. 27.

The top 26 teams made the playoffs.

Haughton’s final rankings point was 25.9667. That was just .0505 less than No. 26 Covington.

Haughton was one of the few teams in North Louisiana to get in a game Monday or Tuesday. The Lady Bucs lost to non-select Division V No. 1 seed Quitman 15-4.

Airline reached the second round last year as the No. 11 seed, falling to No. 6 Walker 7-1.

Benton was also the No. 23 seed last year. The Lady Tigers fell to No. 10 Fontainebleau 7-6 in the first round.

Plain Dealing was the No. 19 seed last year. The Lady Lions lost to No. 14 Grand Lake 17-2 in the first round.

Last year was the first time the LHSAA had divisions instead of classes in for non-select schools.
