The Haughton Lady Bucs, Benton Lady Tigers and Providence Classical Academy Lady Knights opened the 2026 season with victories Tuesday.
Haughton defeated Nprth Caddo 25-7, 25-16, 25-18 at Haughton. Benton defeated Calvary Baptist 25-22, 25-23, 25-15 at Benton. PCA defeated Northwood 25-14, 27-25, 27-25 at Northwood.
In another opener, Airline fell to Natchitoches Central in four sets at home. The Lady Vikings won the first set 26-24. The Lady Chiefs swept the next three 25-13, 25-16, 25-19.
Parkway fell to Ruston 25-15, 25-14, 25-11 at Parkway. The Lady Panthers dropped to 0-2.
At Haughton, Ava Dickey led the Lady Bucs in kills and aces with seven and eight, respectively. She also had six assists and five digs.
Bella Van had six kills and four aces. Mikaela Poole had 11 assists and three kills.
Tavyanna Norwood had four kills and two blocks.
Skylar Hogan had five aces and two kills. Hannah Strange had three aces.
Haughton visits Captain Shreve Thursday.
At Benton, the Lady Tigers avenged a three-set loss to the Lady Cavs last season.
The first set was tight throughout. Calvary led 22-21, but Benton reeled off four straight points to win it.
The Lady Tigers got off to a great start in the second set and led 12-4. But the Lady Cavs won 13 straight points to go up 17-12. Benton then went on a 12-3 run for a 24-20 lead.
Calvary saved three set points before making a service error.
Benton got out in front early in the third set. The Lady Tigers led 13-10 then outscored the Lady Cavs 12-5 the rest of the way.
Benton is scheduled to play in the Ascension Episcopal tournament later this week.
Airline hosts Red River and Parkway visits West Ouachita Thursday.
Bossier opens its season Thursday against Caddo Magnet at home.
PCA hosts Lincoln Prep Thursday.
