The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reminds motorists that intermittent lane closures remain necessary as the $128 million I-20 major rehabilitation nears completion in Bossier City.
Drivers should anticipate short-duration lane closures in both directions during both day and nighttime to allow for permanent roadway striping operations and other final tasks.
These operations will be taking place in the rehab section of the project (Hamilton Rd. to Industrial Dr.), as well as continuing over the Red River to the I-49 interchange in Shreveport.
As a reminder, all of the major construction work such as concrete paving, drainage, and sign installation is complete, but drivers should keep in mind that this is still an active work zone. Please pay attention to advance warning signage, reduced speed limits, and be aware of crews & equipment on site.
The anticipated final completion date is mid-May 2026, depending on weather and other factors.
DOTD would like to thank the community for its patience while I-20 was being reconstructed, a critical infrastructure improvement for the heavily traveled interstate corridor in north Louisiana.
