In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, Keep Bossier Beautiful
(KBB), in partnership with Bossier Parish Police Jury and Keep America Beautiful, is inviting
residents to help create a community time capsule that will preserve memories, stories, and
snapshots of life in 2026 for future generations.
The time capsule, which will be installed at South Bossier Park, is intended to capture the spirit
of the community during this historic milestone and will remain sealed until 2076.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to participate by submitting small, flat items that reflect
life in our community today, patriotism and American pride, family traditions, and hopes for the
future.
Suggested submissions include:
● Handwritten letters to future generations
● Children’s artwork
● Family recipes
● Community photographs
● School essays or poems
● Local newspapers and church bulletins
● Photos of landmarks and neighborhoods
● “What America Means to Me” reflections
● Grocery receipts, menus, or snapshots of everyday life in 2026
Submissions should be placed in a 9×12 envelope and clearly labeled with the participant’s
name, date, and email address.
Items may be dropped off at:
Bossier Sheriff’s Office Substation
2510 Viking Drive
Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Through June 15 at noon
No food, liquids, batteries, or perishable items will be accepted.
Watch for the public time capsule sealing ceremony and plan to join us during the community’s
July 4 fireworks celebration at South Bossier Park. Additional event details will be announced
soon.
