Time is running out for Bossier Parish residents to become part of local history.
Keep Bossier Beautiful, in partnership with the Bossier Parish Police Jury Keep America
Beautiful® and Visit Shreveport Bossier is encouraging residents to submit letters and
memorabilia for the 2026 Community Time Capsule before Wednesday, June 24.

The time capsule, which commemorates America’s 250th birthday, will preserve a snapshot of
life in Bossier Parish in 2026 and remain sealed until 2076, when it will be reopened during the
nation’s 300th anniversary celebrations.

Residents of all ages are invited to participate by sharing letters about life in Bossier Parish
today, family traditions, community pride and hopes for future generations.

“We have a unique opportunity to tell future generations what life was like in Bossier Parish
during this historic moment,” said Lynn Bryan, executive director of Keep Bossier Beautiful.
“Every letter, photograph and memory submitted will help create a lasting record of our
community in 2026.”

Participants may also submit copies of photographs, children’s artwork, recipes, school essays,
poems and other small, flat items that represent life in Bossier Parish today. Participants are
encouraged to submit copies rather than irreplaceable originals. Food, liquids, batteries and
other perishable items will not be accepted.

Submissions may be emailed to [email protected] or delivered to:
Bossier Sheriff’s Office Substation
2510 Viking Drive
Bossier City, LA 71111
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The submission deadline is Tuesday, June 24, at close of business.
The time capsule will be sealed during the Time Capsule Ceremony on Friday, June 26 and will
be placed at South Bossier Park, where it will remain until it is reopened in 2076.
