Beginning Wednesday, October 21, westbound lanes of U.S. Hwy. 80 over Fifi Bayou near Haughton in Bossier Parish will be diverted to the newly constructed eastbound bridge via temporary crossovers, according to the state Dept. of Transportation and Development.
During this traffic configuration, one lane of traffic in each direction will be open.
During this new traffic configuration, the U.S. 80 entrance to the parish-owned Tall Timbers park located near the Tall Timbers subdivision will be closed. Patrons of the park will be able to access the park through the rear entrance and the adjacent gravel parking lot on the east side of Tall Timbers Blvd.
DOTD anticipates the change will last approximately six months to allow the contractor to begin work on replacing the westbound bridge.
This $4.2 million project includes replacement of both the eastbound and westbound bridges on U.S. 80 over Fifi Bayou in Haughton. The entire project is on track to be complete in Spring 2021, weather permitting.
