The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that DOTD maintenance and fleet crews are working to improve a section of US 71 just north of the Taylortown community in south Bossier Parish.

Beginning Monday, October 5, 2026, there will be alternating lane closures on US 71 northbound between Research Station Drive and Caplis Sligo Road. These lane closures are scheduled to be in place through Thursday, October 8th from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day, and are necessary to allow for asphalt paving operations.

Alternating lane closures will also take place Monday, Oct. 12th through Wednesday, Oct. 14th for paving operations in the southbound direction.

Restrictions/Permits: No detour necessary for this work.

Alternate Route: Traffic will be allowed through the work zone via the use of flagging operations. It is critical that motorists pay attention to warning signage and the flagger’s directions to ensure the safety of everyone in the construction area.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
