BPCC Press Release

Bossier Parish couldn’t find the range in falling to Navarro College 52-47 Saturday in a Region XIV men’s basketball game at the Billy Montgomery Gym.

The Cavs saw a two-game win streak snapped in falling to 14-7 overall and 6-7 in region play. The Bulldogs snapped a two-game losing skid with the win to improve to improve to 12-8, 6-6.

Neither team was able to get much of a rhythm, but the Bulldogs made five from beyond the arc while the Cavs hit just one.

BPCC took its last lead with 3:47 left in the game (44-43) on two Farvens Ulysse free throws. A Chase Nelson runner from the free throw line and an Elijah Mitchell 3-pointer put Navarro up 48-44 with 2:33 left.

BPCC got within 48-47 on a Braylan McNeal dunk with 1:36 left but that was the last points for the Cavs. Four free throws by the Bulldogs leading scorer Jaquarious Patterson in the final minute sealed the win.

McNeal was the only double-digit scorer for the Cavs with 17 points. Chris Coleman and Tyrone Iroghama both scored six.

Patterson scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half for Navarro.

Bossier Parish is on the road to Panola on Wednesday.
