The Optimist Club of Bossier City is proud to announce its upcoming Optimist Club Essay Contest Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Thursday, February 19, at 5:30 PM. The event will be held at Asbury Baptist Church, 3200 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA 71111. The public is welcome to attend.
This annual event celebrates the talents and voices of local youth, recognizing student writers for their outstanding essays and achievements. Contestants are middle and high school students from Bossier Parish Schools. The 2025–2026 Essay Contest topic is: “How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me.”
Community members, families, and supporters are invited to join in honoring the students and their accomplishments.
