The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, US 71 southbound (Market Street) at the Union Pacific railroad crossing near the Hilton Hotel & Convention Center in downtown Shreveport will be closed.
This full road closure (southbound directon only) is scheduled to be in place from approximately 8:30am to 3:00pm for one (1) day, and is necessary to allow UP to perform repairs to their railroad tracks.
This crossing is located 0.3 mile north of the Texas Street (US 80) intersection. (see included map)
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location.
Alternate Route: All vehicles will be detoured via LA 3036 (N. Common Street) to Texas Street to Market Street.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
