The Arc Caddo-Bossier held its 2026 Leadership Luncheon Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana in Bossier City, bringing together civic leaders, sponsors and donors to recognize the organization’s work supporting people with disabilities.
The annual luncheon featured keynote speaker Dani Bowman, an entrepreneur, animator, educator and public speaker with autism who is also a cast member of Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum U.S.
Bowman was diagnosed with autism at age 3 and was nonverbal until age 6. She discovered animation at a young age and went on to build a career using animation, education and entrepreneurship to create opportunities for neurodivergent people.
At age 14, Bowman founded DaniMation, a social enterprise that teaches animation and helps create professional opportunities for young people and young adults who are neurodiverse. She later expanded the program internationally with DaniMation UK in 2019.
Bowman has taught animation to more than 3,500 students. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation and an MBA in Global Strategy & Leadership. She has also produced 16 original animated short films, which premiered at San Diego Comic-Con.
Bowman is widely known for her role on Love on the Spectrum U.S., where she has used her platform to promote representation of people with disabilities in media, education and employment.
Her career and work with DaniMation reflected the mission of The Arc Caddo-Bossier, which is focused on building opportunities for people with disabilities.
Kristen Powers, CEO of The Arc Caddo-Bossier, said Bowman’s story demonstrates the importance of providing people with opportunities to develop their abilities and pursue their goals.
“When we look at Dani, we see exactly what we hope for every person we serve: the chance to become the best version of themselves, with nothing standing in the way,” Powers said. “Representation like hers helps break down the barriers that too often hold people back.”
The Leadership Luncheon is held annually by The Arc Caddo-Bossier and brings community members together to recognize civic leaders and supporters while highlighting the organization’s mission and the opportunities available to people with disabilities.
