Bossier Parish golfers posted high finishes in state junior tournaments that concluded Friday at Southern Trace Country Club.
Airline rising sophomore Hudson Greene, who was in a tie for 16th after Wednesday’s first round, finished tied for fourth in the 68th Louisiana Boys’ Junior Amateur Championship.
Abigail McWilliams, a 2025 Benton graduate, and Benton rising junior Grace Goodwin finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 60th Louisiana Girls’ Junior Amateur Championship.
Greene entered the final round of the 54-hole tournament tied for ninth. He shot a 1-under 71 for a three-day total of 1-under 215.
He and Shreveport’s James Holtsclaw finished three strokes behind winner Ivan Popp of Lafayette.
Popp struggled to a 6-over 78 but his first two rounds of 64-70 gave him a six-stroke lead going into Friday’s round.
Baton Rouge’s Drew Pieto and Monroe’s Maddox Mowad finished tied for second at 2 under. Pieto shot a 72 Friday and Mowad a 71.
McWilliams shot an 80 and finished at 17 over. Goodwin shot a 75 and finished two strokes behind McWilliams.
Brusly’s Maci Williams completed a wire-to-wire victory with a final-round 76 for a three-day total of 3-over 219. She also won the tournament in 2023.
Defending champion Jade Nevis of New Orleans, who shot a 73, finished second at 6 over.
Denham Springs’ Evelynn Artieta, last year’s runner-up, shot a 79 and finished third at 12 over.
