SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, La. — The Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and Visit Shreveport-Bossier are set to host the Super Retriever Series (SRS) Crown Championship, returning to Caddo and Bossier parishes for the fifth consecutive year, Oct. 2–12, 2025.
The event, one of the nation’s premier dog sporting competitions, brings together elite retriever trials and high-flying dock diving contests. All events are free and open to spectators.
Festivities begin with the “Big Hats & Bowties” owners’ social Oct. 2 at LIVE! Casino & Hotel Louisiana. Retriever trials will run Oct. 3–8 at Camp Minden, testing top dogs and handlers in hunting-style scenarios. The action then shifts to the Louisiana Boardwalk Oct. 10–12, where the SRS Super Dock will showcase long jumps, high jumps and speed runs behind Bass Pro Shops.
“Shreveport-Bossier has proven to be an outstanding host for the Super Retriever Series,” said Shannon Nardi, producer of SRS. “The combination of great facilities, supportive community partners and the welcoming spirit of the region make it a destination our competitors look forward to each year. That’s why we’re proud to return for the fifth year in a row.”
Coinciding with the dock diving championship, Pet Palooza will take place Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Louisiana Boardwalk. The outdoor, pet-friendly celebration will feature local rescues, vendors and a festive market atmosphere.
Activities will include:
Pet adoptions with local rescues
Free rabies vaccinations
“Paw-some Pairs” costume contest (dress as your favorite dynamic duo)
Market vendors with treats, toys and more
Free fun jumps for dogs behind Bass Pro Shops
Donation baskets supporting animal rescues
Pet Palooza will run alongside the Bossier City Makers Fair, an outdoor market with more than 150 vendors, offering shopping, food and family fun along the riverfront.
