High school girls basketball: Plain Dealing wins on tough night for parish teams

The Plain Dealing Lady Lions won on what was a tough Tuesday night for parish teams.

Plain Dealing ended a three-game slide with a 37-16 victory over North Webster at home.

Elsewhere, Airline fell to Ruston 58-36 at Airline, Parkway dropped a 52-47 decision to defending select Division I champion Huntington at Huntington and Benton lost to Northwood 53-36 at Benton.

At Plain Dealing, Jakayla Douglas led the Lady Lions (5-5) with 21 points.

At Airline, the Lady Vikings trailed 24-19 at the half. Airline went on a 13-3 run to tie it in the third but Ruston pulled away.

Addison McDowell led the Lady Vikings (2-5) with 15 points. Ke’Zyriah Sykes added 11. Cartayva Butler scored seven.

Angelica Green paced Ruston (6-2) with 13 points. Kearra Wilson and Adrianna Robinson added 11 and 10, respectively.

At Benton, the Lady Tigers dropped to 7-7. Northwood improved to 6-2.

At Huntington, Parkway fell to 5-5. Huntington improved to 6-2.
