The Krewe of Gemini officially turned back the clock Saturday
evening as members gathered at the Gemini Den for the highly anticipated announcement of the
theme for the organization’s 38th season.
The theme for Gemini XXXVIII is “Retro Rewind!” — a year-long celebration of the
unforgettable music, movies, television shows, and pop culture that defined the 1970s.
From disco balls and bell-bottoms to iconic television characters and legendary rock bands,
Krewe members will transport parade-goers and Grand Bal attendees back to one of the most
colorful and influential decades in American culture.
“This season is all about nostalgia, fun, and celebrating the entertainment that shaped a
generation,” said Gemini XXXVIII Captain Patrick Gallagher. “The 1970s gave us incredible
music, unforgettable television, classic films, and culture that continue to influence us today. We
can’t wait to bring that energy to the streets of Shreveport-Bossier and to our Grand Bal.”
Throughout the season, individual floats will embrace their own unique piece of the decade,
featuring themes inspired by beloved classics including Gilligan’s Island, MAS*H, Three’s
Company, Rocky Horror Picture Show, KISS, Disco, and many more favorites from the era.
Members attending the announcement party learned their float themes through a spirited evening
of friendly competition, excitement, and celebration as the Krewe officially kicked off
preparations for the 2026-2027 Mardi Gras season.
Members of the media are invited to view and download the official Gemini XXXVIII theme
artwork, float mock-ups, and supporting graphics through the Dropbox link included with this

Additional details about Gemini XXXVIII events, royalty, and upcoming activities will be
announced in the coming months.
For now, it’s time to dust off the platform shoes, turn up the vinyl records, and get ready to
boogie — because Gemini XXXVIII is taking Mardi Gras on a Retro Rewind!
