A Bossier City restaurant that has served generations of families for more than four decades announced Monday that it will permanently close its longtime location on Airline Drive.
According to a post shared today (July 28, 2026) on the Notini’s Italian Restaurant Facebook page, the restaurant will close its doors at 2013 Airline Drive on Sept. 25, bringing to a close a chapter that has become part of the community’s dining history.
Notini’s first opened its doors in June 1981, when Jerry Kolniak, along with his brother Ronnie and their father Stanley, established the restaurant in honor of Jerry’s grandfather, Antonio Notini. Antonio immigrated from Barga, Italy, in 1909 and spent his life in the restaurant business, inspiring the family’s tradition of hospitality, hard work and serving others.
Over the past 45 years, Notini’s became known for its scratch-made Italian dishes and welcoming atmosphere, serving as the backdrop for countless birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, family dinners and other special occasions for residents throughout Bossier Parish and northwest Louisiana.
Current owners Tim Huck and Grayson Bailey, who took ownership of the restaurant in November 2019, said it has been an honor to continue the legacy established by the Notini family.
In their Facebook announcement, the owners expressed gratitude to the community that supported the restaurant throughout the years.
“For more than four decades, Notini’s Italian Restaurant has been more than just a place to enjoy a meal—it has been a place where families gathered, friendships were celebrated, milestones were shared, and memories were made,” the post stated.
The owners also thanked generations of loyal customers and employees who helped shape the restaurant’s history.
“To every guest who celebrated a birthday, anniversary, graduation, family dinner, or simply made us part of your weekly routine—thank you. Your loyalty, kindness, and support have meant more than words can express.”
The message also recognized the restaurant’s staff, calling them “the heart of Notini’s” and thanking both past and present employees for their dedication over the years.
Before closing in September, Huck and Bailey are inviting the public to return for one final visit.
“As we prepare to say goodbye, we invite you to visit us one last time to share a meal, reminisce, and celebrate the incredible journey we’ve all shared together,” the owners wrote.
While the Airline Drive location is preparing to close, the announcement suggested the Notini’s story may not be over.
“This isn’t simply goodbye—it’s the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. Please keep an eye out for the next chapter of Notini’s. We look forward to sharing what comes next, and we hope you’ll continue the journey with us.”
For many Bossier City residents, Notini’s has long been more than a restaurant. It has been a place where families celebrated life’s milestones and traditions were passed from one generation to the next. As word of the closing spread Monday, many customers shared memories and messages of appreciation on the restaurant’s Facebook page, reflecting the lasting impact Notini’s has had on the community since opening its doors in 1981.
