This September, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, along with partners at the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, is hosting Louisiana’s Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Charlton J. Meginley, Col (Ret), USAF. Secretary Meginley will be speaking to the Shreveport-Bossier business community about his work and ways your business can better serve and partner with the military.
The Military Leadership Luncheon was created to increase community awareness about all the major happenings in our military community and gain insight on the many ways our businesses can get involved.
Representatives from other local organizations that regularly work with the military community will be present to make connections and share information.
“Our goal is to cultivate awareness of our military’s mission and how our community can enhance support for the men and women of Barksdale Air Force Base, our local reserve and guard units, their families and our veterans,” said Lisa Johnson, President/CEO of the Bossier Chamber.

Louisiana’s Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Charlton J. Meginley, Colonel (ret) United States Air Force, is responsible for overseeing the department’s $90 million budget and 850 employees statewide. Appointed by Governor Jeff Landry, Secretary Meginley manages the operations of five state Veterans homes, five state Veterans cemeteries, 74 Veterans service offices, 32 college and university campus student Veteran centers.
