Members of the Bossier City Lions Club heard from audiologist Amelia Sarcar, Au.D., during their regular meeting Thursday, Sept. 10.
Sarcar spoke to the group about hearing health, the importance of recognizing changes in hearing and when individuals should consider having their hearing evaluated.
Sarcar was born and raised in Shreveport and earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 2022.
She completed her fourth-year externship at the New Orleans VA Medical Center before earning her Doctorate of Audiology from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2026.
Sarcar has experience working in ENT and neurological clinics, private practices, community clinics and VA hospitals in Shreveport and New Orleans.
She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and holds the organization’s Certificate of Clinical Competence.
Sarcar works at The Ear, Nose & Throat Center, AMC, at 2121 Line Avenue in Shreveport.
Her presentation gave Lions Club members an opportunity to learn more about hearing health and her work as an audiologist.
