High school boys basketball: Bossier tops Airline

The Bossier Bearkats had their final five-game winning streak snapped by Huntington Saturday night.

Bossier bounced back Monday night, defeating the Airline Vikings 52-39 before a packed house at Airline.

DT Thomas and Ron Dillard led Bossier (10-4) with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Braylon Robinson’s added 11.

Kevin White paced Airline (8-6) with 17 points. Eli Washington added 12.

Bossier led 7-5 after the first quarter. The Bearkats took control in the second, scoring 14 points and limiting the Vikings to three.

Bossier’s Montrevell Lewis scored six of his seven points in the quarter.

With Washington scoring seven and White six,  Airline got within 10 after three quarters. 

White added eight points in the fourth. He  was 6-of-6 from the free throw line.

But the patient Bearkats got some easy layups off good passes and made 9-of-14 free throws in the quarter. Robinson was 4-of-4 from the line and scored six.

Both Bossier and Airline are in the Bossier Invitational which starts Thursday.

Thomas scored 21 points in Bossier’s 62-58 loss at Huntington. Dillard added nine, Robinson eight and TJ Bunnery seven.

The Bearkats trailed 27-22 at the half. They cut the deficit to two after three quarters but the Raiders (7-4) held on for the win.

Huntington made 19-of-23 free throws.
