The Benton Lady Tiger Classic, which features 23 teams, begins Thursday.
There will be 25 games played in Benton’s main and auxiliary gyms over three days.
Parish teams competing along with Benton are Haughton, Bossier, Plain Dealing and Providence Classical Academy.
Benton (12-8) takes a four-game winning streak into its opener Thursday against Richwood (8-7).
Haughton (15-5) takes a 13-game winning streak into its game against Logansport (9-6).
Plain Dealing (7-8) faces Booker T. Washington (9-6) in its opener Thursday . Bossier (5-6) plays Ouachita Christian (15-1), and PCA (12-9) faces Byrd (8-11) Friday.
Ouachita Christian was a select Division IV semifinalist last year.
Other teams in the field are Red River (9-9), Alexandria (10-7), Merryville (14-7), West Monroe (11-6), Minden (11-7), Loyola (4-10), Green Oaks (3-11), St. Mary’s (3-10), Northwood (11-4), Zwolle (18-4), LaGrange (13-4), Rosepine (12-7) and Southwood (10-8).
Zwolle, a Class B school, has won 12 in a row. Rosepine reached the non-select Division III semifinals last year.
