High school girls basketball: Airline, Bossier, PCA win

The Airline Lady Vikings, Bossier Lady Kats and Providence Classical Academy Lady Knights notched victories Tuesday night.

Airline defeated Minden 63-46 at Airline, Bossier downed Plain Dealing 59-30 at Bossier and PCA dropped Calvary Baptist 56-41 at Calvary.

At Airline, Nia Williams and Addi McDowell led the Lady Vikings to their first victory with 22 and 19 points, respectively.

Ke’Zyriah Sykes added 13.

McDowell hit four of Airline’s eight 3-pointers.

The Lady Vikings (1-4) got off to a fast start. Williams scored 14 in the first quarter and Airline led 24-14. The Lady Vikings limited Minden to five points in the second quarter, extending their lead to 37-19 by halftime.

Freshman Parys Gillins led Minden (6-5) with 16 points. 

At Bossier, Zamarion Carter (18 points), Adrianna Gooden (16) and Orianna Edwards (14) led the Lady Kats (5-2) to their third straight victory.

Brianna Newton led Plain Dealing (4-3) with 15 points. Jakayla Douglas added 11.

At Calvary, Emily Stephens hit three 3-pointers and led PCA (10-5) with 19 points. Alex Thaxton added 11.  

Adilynn DeLoach scored all 10 of her points in the fourth quarter. Thaxton was 6-of-8 from the free throw line in the fourth and scored eight.
