High school softball: Airline’s win streak reaches five

The Airline Vikings won their fifth in a row Thursday, defeating Stanley 8-4 at Stanley.

Elsewhere, Haughton fell to Logansport 8-6 at Haughton, Parkway lost to Many 15-8 at Parkway and Plain Dealing fell to North Webster 16-0 at North Webster.

At Airline, Lindsey Marcinkus went 3-for-4,with a triple. Elena Heng went 2-for-4 with a double. 

Aleena Duran hit a solo home run. Abby Hutson had a double and two RBI. Paige Marshall also had two RBI.

Duran started in the circle and went five innings. Emily Rachal allowed one hit, struck out four and walked none in two innings of relief.

Airline (6-2) plays Quitman Friday in the Pineville tournament.

At Logansport, the Lady Bucs led 6-1 after three innings. But the Lady Tigers scored seven in the bottom of the fifth.

Haughton’s Carsyn Kizzia went 3-for-3 with a home run. Ella Vickers had a home run, double and three RBI.

Kayleigh Goss went 2-for-4. Kylie Small and Clara Shaffer both doubled.

Haughton (2-2) plays Franklin Parish Friday as part of the Sterlington tournament.

At Parkway, the Lady Panthers trailed 10-8 after six innings. But the Lady Tigers pulled away with five in the top of the seventh.

Zoey Horn went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Allanah Wilson went 2-for-4 with a double. Ceniya Thompkins had two RBI.

Haley Thornton and Madison Menard both doubled.
