High school volleyball: Haughton takes set off district leader Byrd before falling; Bossier, PCA fall

The Haughton Lady Bucs fell to District 1-I leader Byrd three sets to one at Haughton.

Byrd won the first set 25-21. Haughton evened the match with a 25-16 victory in the second, But the Jackets won the final two 25-14, 25-13.

Haughton’s Carsyn Kizzia had 30 digs. Laila Clinton had nine assists, four aces and four digs.

Maddie Polk had five kills and three blocks.

Imnyi Caston had five kills and one block. Kinsley Brotherton had four kills,

Haughton (13-18, 1-4) hosts Northwood in a non-district match Monday.

Byrd (27-8, 5-0) clinched at least a share of the district championship. 

Elsewhere Wednesday, Bossier fell to Woodlawn 3-1 in a District 1-II match at Bossier. The Lady Kats won the first set 25-16. The Knights won the next three 25-22, 25-13, 25-17.

Bossier (2-9) closes its inaugural season Monday at Caddo Magnet,

Providence Classical Academy fell to Loyola Prep 25-13, 25-20, 25-19 at Loyola,

The Knights close their inaugural season and first in the LHSAA Oct. 31 at St. Mary’s.
