Families looking for summer fun still have time to experience what has become one of Bossier City’s biggest seasonal attractions as the Great Louisiana Fair continues at Louisiana Downs through June 14.

Now in full swing, the fair has drawn visitors from across the Ark-La-Tex with its mix of rides, live entertainment, carnival games and family-friendly attractions. Organizers say more than a week of fun remains for those who have not yet visited.

The fairgrounds feature more than 30 state fair-style amusement rides ranging from high-speed thrill rides to classic family attractions, along with a dedicated Kiddieland area designed for younger children.

Visitors also can enjoy an acre of carnival games, prize booths and a midway filled with popular fair foods.

One of the biggest attractions continues to be the free entertainment included with admission. Guests can watch the Flores Family Circus & Thrill Show, cheer on Robinson’s Racing Pigs, visit the petting zoo and parakeet encounter, and enjoy the hourly Bubble Foam Show.

Fair Manager Kevin Bosley said organizers have been pleased with the community’s response and are encouraging families to take advantage of the remaining days of the fair.

“Bossier City gave us such a warm welcome last year, and we’re excited to be back,” Bosley said. “Whether you’ve already visited or are planning your first trip this year, there’s still plenty of time to come out and enjoy everything the fair has to offer.”

The Great Louisiana Fair is designed to be an affordable outing for families, with daily promotions, ride specials and discount offers available throughout the remainder of the event.

Regular admission is $7, while children shorter than 36 inches are admitted free. Parking also is free.

Fair hours are Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Located at Louisiana Downs, 8000 E. Texas St. in Bossier City, the Great Louisiana Fair has quickly become a popular summer tradition, offering a close-to-home destination for family entertainment.

With rides, shows, games and plenty of opportunities to make lasting memories, organizers say there is still time for families to enjoy everything the fair has to offer before it closes June 14.
