Wonder Oasis Waterpark, a highly anticipated
summer attraction in Shreveport, Louisiana, regrets to announce the delay of its opening
until June 1, 2024. Traditionally, the waterpark kicks off its season on the Saturday of
Memorial Day weekend, but due to unexpected hurdles, this year’s opening has been
postponed.
Lee Hovis, the seasoned owner of Wonder Oasis Waterpark, shared insights into the
challenges the team has faced leading up to the scheduled opening. “When we
embarked on this project in March of this year, we knew we had a tight timeline to get
the waterpark ready for the summer season,” said Hovis. “Unfortunately, despite our
best efforts, everything has not fallen into place as anticipated. With over 40 years in the
waterpark industry, I can confidently say that this project has been the most challenging
one I’ve encountered.”
Acknowledging the dedication of his staff, Hovis emphasized that despite their tireless
efforts, the park is not yet prepared to meet the standards expected by Wonder Oasis
Waterpark and its patrons. “We had to make the difficult decision to delay our opening
until June 1st,” Hovis explained. “While we anticipated some obstacles, the magnitude of
the issues we’ve faced combined with the limited timeframe has necessitated this
decision.”
Hovis reassured the community that work is ongoing to expedite the park’s readiness
while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. “We are committed to
ensuring Wonder Oasis Waterpark becomes a fun and safe facility that the community
can take pride in,” he added.
In recognition of the inconvenience caused by the delay, Wonder Oasis Waterpark will
automatically upgrade season passes purchased before May 31st 2024 for the summer
season. The upgrade includes a $15 voucher that can be used for food, retail, or ticket
purchases within the park, as well as one “bring a buddy” ticket, allowing pass holders to
bring a friend for free admission on a day of their choice. Current Season Pass sale of
$39 will be extended through May 31st 2024.
“We appreciate the support of the community thus far and ask for your continued
patience as we strive to deliver an exceptional experience for all our guests,” Hovis
concluded.
