The Republican Women of Bossier City held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 22 at Silver Star Steakhouse, welcoming attorney and political commentator Royal Alexander as their guest speaker for the evening.

Alexander, a Shreveport-based constitutional law expert and former candidate for Louisiana Attorney General, delivered a well-received presentation focused on recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings and the current redistricting efforts surrounding Cleo Fields’ congressional district. Attendees described the session as informative, engaging, and timely, with lively discussions and thoughtful questions following the main presentation.

“Royal Alexander never disappoints,” said one attendee. “He was totally awesome tonight—his insights on the Court’s decisions and what’s happening with redistricting in Louisiana were incredibly helpful and eye-opening.”

The group, known for its active involvement in local and state politics, regularly hosts speakers to help educate and inform members on key legislative, legal, and policy issues. Tuesday’s meeting continued that tradition, offering members a deep dive into the intersection of law and governance at a crucial moment for the state.

As the Louisiana Legislature prepares for a potential special session to address court-mandated redistricting changes, Alexander highlighted the legal and political implications of the decisions and stressed the importance of citizen engagement in the process.

The Republican Women of Bossier City meet monthly and are committed to promoting informed political participation and supporting conservative values in Bossier Parish and beyond.
